From the Radio World “Who’s Buying What” page: Australian company NG Media has selected AEQ Forum IP digital consoles for its six new studios. Integration work was done by Broadcast Components.

“NG Media produces radio content from one of the most remote regions in the world, the 250,000 square kilometers of Ngaanyatjarra Lanas in Australia, with a clear focus on cultural and community-based information for the traditional inhabitants of that part of the country,” AEQ noted in a release.

“The upgrade of its technology allows these remote communities to now share their stories and news with each other.”

The studios use AEQ Forum Lite digital consoles. Forum can be configured between 4 and 12 faders; NG Media opted for the 12-fader model at its main site in Wingellina (Irrunytju) and eight-fader surfaces for its other five RIBS studios.

Broadcast Components coordinated the installation of cabling and electrical work for all locations in a turnkey project that also included supplying ancillary equipment such as microphones, loudspeakers, processors and on-air indicators. “To ensure continuity of transmission and minimize security issues, the equipment rack furniture has been moved from inside the studios to a separate room with controlled access.” Australian engineer Ben Pridmore was responsible for the installation and in charge of coordinating the commissioning and on-site training.
